Smart Growth & Neighborhood Integrity
The Core Principle: We must balance Middleton's growth with the preservation of our neighborhood character.
Growth is necessary, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the people who already call Middleton home. My approach to development includes:
Neighborhood Integrity: I support a "Good Neighbor" approach that prioritizes community-backed compromises over "maximum development at all costs".
Infrastructure First: New development must be supported by adequate infrastructure - including stormwater management and traffic flow - to ensure it doesn't degrade the quality of life for existing residents.
Respecting Resident Input: I’ve seen cases where neighborhood concerns were sidelined by the Council. I will advocate for a development process that puts resident feedback at the center of the decision-making process.
